Front Page Treasury!

I was on the front page of Etsy this afternoon along with some other very talented crafty people and artists! Thanks to Eva Miller of KapKa Design who included my Twirly Orange drawing in her Jelly Fish Party Treasury.

Monday People

Though I haven't been dilligent about my Person-a-Week project, I did work on drawing some people. You can also see that I cheated heavily by falling back onto drawing paisley...

These People are Boring

So, my Person-A-Day project has dwindled down to a...um... Person-every-so-often. It comes back to my usual problem. I can never think of anything for my subjects to be doing. So they just stand there. Staring. I have more like them to post and I'll scan them but...urgh!

Pasta Carbonara -

Looking for something love-ly to make your special sweetie tomorrow? Pasta Carbonara is super easy to make, looks impressive and tastes delicious. Not including your pasta, it only has four ingredients! It's a perfect dish for your kids to help you make Dad a special dinner. A warning though, this is not a recipe for those watching their cholesterol and calories as you will see from the ingredients list:
1 egg
1 cup of milk*
3 slices of bacon cooked and chopped up
1 Tablespoon of butter
1. Pour your milk into a small bowl and crack your egg into it. Give it a stir with a fork but don't scramble your egg. Set these aside, while your pasta is cooks, until room temperature.
2. Cook your pasta according to the package directions. Drain and return to the pot. Add your butter and stir over low heat to coat your noodles.
3. Add your egg/milk mixture and continue stirring until pasta is coated and the egg starts to solidify.
4. Add your bacon and stir to evenly distribute.
* You can use whatever fat content milk you prefer, for a richer flavor you can use half and half but this recipe tastes just as good with regular 2% milk too. Enjoy!

Paisley of the Week - Paisley Girl

I haven't done a Paisley of the Week since before Christmas and for that I appologize. I've been lazy about it to be honest preferring to take the passive approach that if I saw a worthy paisley, I'd post it. Mousing around on Etsy this morning I found this super cool watercolor "Paisley Girl" by Jessica Stride of Purple Tree Bird on Etsy. I love her style, it's whimiscal and weird which is a lovely combination. It's reminiscent of Teesha Moore who motivated my Person-a-Day project. Synchronicity at work, eh? Be sure to visit the Purple Tree Bird blog as well!
